Too "Slippery" to Blog!
Dear Readers,
Sorry, as always, I've been out for a while. But to tell you the truth, this time this wasn't my fault.
If you are from India, you might have heard about the disastrous time, the hills of northern India, have had! With extemely high rainfall and extremely extensive construction and, not to forget, extremely poor drainage, many cities( including ours) have suffered "Extreme" losses. In my town alone, over 85 houses were affected by large scale landslides.
Many villages were destroyed by cloudbursts. Many others by landslides.
With no electricity, no water and extemely limited supply of ration, seroiusly, it was hard to blog.
Anyways, I'm and for that matter WE are fine.
And hope to remain so for a while.
Will write soon.
Buenos Dias.
Abhishek.

'Spilled' beans!
Dear readers,
Almost a week has passed since I last corresponded, even I regret my lax attitude about writing. But I don't think that I am to blame. Its not my fault if I continue to teach "no one" of our duties towards our planet, continuing to address them as "Dear Readers". But I feel it is my responsibility to speak of the earth as an self proclaimed environmentalist, and I shall do that!
Today I shall speak of oil spills and their adverse effects on the earth.
Recently we saw an oil spill in the gulf of Mexico (Pictured above). The headlines of the newspapers continuously proclaimed: "Oil spill causes loss of billions!". They might as well be referring to lives!
Corals, Aquatic creatures, polyps, reptiles and birds, all are adversely affected by oil spills like these!
Oil covers the sea surface and creates a giant death chamber for millions of such creatures, blocking both the vital sunlight and fresh air.
BP funds many art museums and art galleries but the destruction of many thousands examples of the finest art of god, life, has been much of a question mark over their funding.
Oil also engulfs thousands of sea birds and many thousands of other unknown creatures.
Whole humanity was up against the greatest prejudice in the human history, The Holocaust.
This is time when the humans of the planet came up, once again, for the holocaust of the many hundred aquatic creatures that happens due to Oil spills.
Hope I write soon when the world needs me and hope you read soon so that you may make a better place out of this place.
Goodbye,
Abhishek

What image do we pose?
Hi readers,
It's been a long time since I wrote. As usual my excuse is that I've been busy. But nevertheless, I came across many “Worth Writing". Today I won't be discussing great things on the world level, I won’t be talking of great emissions and the polar ice melt. Today I shall follow the principle of ' Think Globally, Act Locally'.
As I walked on the street of my small town today, I noticed, as I always do, the common things that everyone notices in India ! There were plastic bags in the drains, Cow-Dung on the ground and spit- marks on the walls!
To my foreign readers (If there are any!!!), this might seem ridiculous but its true. So, What I did do was that I clicked photographs of some of the things that i see everyday... and I reminisce... Why is it so with my land? Indians, who are reading this... think of what image you pose in front of the world!
What do we plan to do with this?

Heated Discussion!
Dear Readers,
Its been quite a long time since I wrote. Sorry for the interval.
Now, you might have got an idea from my previous posts, that I live quite close to the Himalayas. Thus, consequentially, it should be a pleasant climate, if not cold, around the places I live in. but not that I exaggerate, I FEEL LIKE I AM SITTING INSIDE A FREAKING STOVE!!!
(For those who can't decipher from the sudden change of case, though i don't feel like telling, but it means I'm shouting!)
You would expect may to be quite a nice time to come to the hills, and your expectations wouldn't go amiss. Even now when you come to my place, or some other very similar one, it would still be okay for you since you would be stepping out into a stove, from out of a darn volcano!
Not only has the global temperature risen by a great extent, it has had much of it wrath on the South east Asia (May be we did something wrong to displease the gods, nothing seems to be right, even the T-20 world cup...).
Anyways, all that can be done from our side is to express concern on the rising global temperatures and if possible take some simple and efficient steps to counter the effects of heat, it might include planting trees, or tending the ones planted, or even collecting the rainwater whenever possible... even if that is possible only four or five times a year now.
Any ways, Keep cool and keep your cool! Make your heads heavy because heat may make you light-headed soon!
My HOT wishes,
Abhishek.

A pledge worth making
Dear Readers,
I've finally decided to keep up with the job of spreading awareness among the peoples of the world and singn in more frequently. I've finally decided on some hardcore action... The world will only change if we want it to change, not by its own will. Thus we need to act... and act now!
What do I mean by this hardcore action thing...?
For this I need a little help from you people...
What I want you to do is.. to spread a small message through whatever means you have with you... be it twitter... facebook... myspace... gmail... yahoo or any other means.. it is up to you people to see that we survive... You survive...!
The message goes as follows:
"I, a member of the wide community of humans, who live on the planet earth, which we regard as our mother, and respect as a mother, hereby declare that today, I have become aware of my social, environmental, and ethical responsibility for the conservation of the planet and thus i, considering myself and relatively mentally developed creature, take on the responsibility of the conservation of all flora and fauna of the whole world, and thus ensure my own survival... and hence make sure that the world becomes a better place to live in!"
Will write sooner or later!

'Mom's Birthday'
Dear Readers,
You might look at the headline and think that your mom's birthday has come and gone... but don't forget the other 'big' mother that you have!
As the content clearly depicts, the blog that thou currently read concerns with the environment...It therefore becomes some sort of a responsibility to write
something special on the occasion of something like the 'Earth day'.Therefore even if I
had been quite busy on the actual date I find it easy to cover up by writing today!
Its not just my but the resposibility of the 1000 million people of the world to come up and save their habitat. We celebrate earth day by refraining from using poly-bags on the date... but not just use, but throw, burn, waste, bury and excessively produce these degraders of our earth on every other day of the year! Of what use is the earth day then...?
We switch off the lights for one hour throughout the world just for the sake of the earth... or so we say, and forget to switch off the single light bulb in the empty rooms of our homes... is that how we help 'mother' earth?
Celebration of Earth day should be each day of the year...by burning candles, not of wax but of the hope of survival... by bursting crackers, not the real ones but the bombs of the environment depleting substances. This is how we can make a small repayment to 'mom'!
and by the way...
Happy Earth day!!!
Abhishek
